Registered Nurse, Malignant Hematology/Oncology

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, collaborative, and competent care in accordance with the UHN Professional Practice Model
• Ensure practice is consistent with professional standards and the ethical framework of the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Participate in continuing education and reflective practice to improve nursing quality and patient care
• Utilize the nursing process in planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care
• Perform physical assessments and predict changes in patient status

Requirements

• Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
• De Souza or ONS Chemotherapy certification (at hire or within 6 months)
• Strong crisis intervention and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Clinical experience in cancer care
• Blood and marrow transplant experience
• Oncology certification with CNA
