About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, collaborative, and competent care in accordance with the UHN Professional Practice Model
- Ensure practice is consistent with professional standards and the ethical framework of the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Participate in continuing education and reflective practice to improve nursing quality and patient care
- Utilize the nursing process in planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care
- Perform physical assessments and predict changes in patient status
Requirements
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- De Souza or ONS Chemotherapy certification (at hire or within 6 months)
- Strong crisis intervention and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Clinical experience in cancer care
- Blood and marrow transplant experience
- Oncology certification with CNA
