Registered Nurse-Labour & Delivery

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and midwives during labor, delivery, and emergency procedures
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and pain management as prescribed
• Provide emotional support and guidance to mothers and their families throughout labor
• Educate patients on labor processes, breathing techniques, and postpartum care
• Prepare and maintain delivery rooms, ensuring all equipment is sterile and ready
• Document patient care, labor progress, and clinical findings accurately
• Support immediate newborn care, including resuscitation if necessary
• Promote bonding between mother and newborn after delivery
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective care
• Maintain infection control and adhere to hospital policies and protocols
• Support and promote breastfeeding in line with Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) principles

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of labour and delivery
• Valid DOH license
