Registered Nurse, Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Responsibilities

• Perform critical care duties including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating age-specific nursing care.
• Administer medications, monitor titrations, perform wound care, and execute personalized interventions.
• Manage dysrhythmia recognition, arterial blood gas interpretation, and hemodynamic pressure interpretation.
• Assist with synchronized cardioversion, emergency defibrillation, and the administration of thrombolytic agents.
• Perform nursing services including arterial punctures, drawing blood from invasive lines, and assisting with temporary pacemaker insertion.
• Care for patients with Swan-Ganz catheters, arterial lines, and mechanical ventilators.
• Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and initiate life-saving measures in emergency situations.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to inform plans of action and provide patient/family education.
• Maintain accurate patient records and utilize DOD government medical sites such as MHS EHR GENESIS.
• Work a Panama Schedule (alternating 3 and 4 twelve-hour shifts) including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or an Associate Degree with three years of experience.
• At least two (2) years of nursing experience, including one (1) year in an intensive care area of four or more beds.
• One year of ICU experience must have occurred within the last three years.
• Current, valid, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in any U.S. jurisdiction.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS (web-based classes are not accepted).
• Authorization to work in the United States.
