Registered Nurse, Infusion

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform direct nursing care for patients using the nursing process
• Provide outpatient IV therapy and chemotherapy treatments in a specialized infusion setting
• Conduct patient assessments including physical, psychosocial, and educational needs
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care and discharge planning
• Educate patients and their families regarding treatments and medical needs
• Manage and care for venous access devices, including implantable and peripherally inserted catheters
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient services
• Maintain clinical competency and adhere to regulatory requirements for patient care

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Current Illinois RN Licensure or a valid temporary permit to practice in Illinois
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Proven venipuncture and IV start skills
• Knowledge regarding the use and care of venous access devices
• Excellent organization and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of full-time experience in outpatient ambulatory infusion or oncology nursing
• ONS or INS certification
• Completion of ONS Chemo-Biotherapy Course within 12 months of hire
