Registered Nurse, Infusion

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform direct nursing care for patients using the nursing process
• Provide outpatient IV and chemotherapy infusion therapy in a professional environment
• Initiate patient assessments including psychosocial, physical, and spiritual needs
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care and discharge planning
• Educate patients and their families regarding treatments and medical needs
• Delegate tasks effectively to staff members based on their scope of practice
• Collaborate with physicians and other professional disciplines to coordinate care
• Maintain clinical competency and meet all regulatory requirements for patient care

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Current Illinois RN Licensure or a valid temporary permit to practice in Illinois
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Excellent venipuncture and IV start skills
• Knowledge regarding the use and care of venous access devices (e.g., implantable and PICC catheters)
• Strong organization and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of full-time experience in outpatient ambulatory infusion or oncology nursing
• ONS or INS certification
• Completion of ONS Chemo-Biotherapy Course within 12 months of hire
