Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site nursing services including medical screening, health assessments, and medication administration
• Perform initial medical screenings within 12 hours of patient arrival
• Triage and document patient requests for healthcare daily
• Administer prescribed medications, injections, and support intravenous administration
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide initial stabilization
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient documentation in Electronic Health Records
• Deliver culturally competent and trauma-informed care
• Comply with infectious disease prevention and reporting requirements

Requirements

• Unrestricted and current Registered Nurse license in Texas or ability to obtain one
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE)
• Ability to pass a medical examination and background investigation
• U.S. citizenship and 5-year U.S. residency
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting 30+ pounds and standing for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Correctional Health Professional (CCHP) or similar credential
• Experience in a detention or correctional healthcare setting
• Proficiency in Spanish
