Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site nursing services including medical screening, health assessments, and medication administration
• Perform initial medical screenings and support comprehensive health assessments within required timeframes
• Triage and document patient requests for healthcare through electronic health records
• Administer prescribed medications, injections, and support intravenous fluid administration
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide initial stabilization
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient documentation
• Deliver culturally competent and trauma-informed care
• Follow infectious disease prevention and reporting requirements

Requirements

• Unrestricted and current Registered Nurse license in Maryland (or ability to obtain one)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Graduate from an accredited associate, baccalaureate, or graduate nursing program
• Ability to pass a medical examination and thorough background investigation
• U.S. citizenship and five-year U.S. residency
• Physical ability to lift 30+ pounds and perform emergency care tasks

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Correctional Health Professional (CCHP) or similar credential
• Experience in a detention or correctional healthcare setting
• Proficiency in Spanish
