Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site nursing services including medical screening, health assessments, and daily sick call support
• Administer prescribed medications and injections within role authorization and provider direction
• Respond to medical emergencies, provide initial stabilization, and support transfers to higher levels of care
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient documentation in Electronic Health Records
• Deliver culturally competent and trauma-informed care to patients
• Perform clinical tasks such as wound care, blood glucose monitoring, urinalysis, and immunizations
• Follow infectious disease prevention, isolation, and reporting requirements

Requirements

• Unrestricted and current Registered Nurse license issued by the state of Maryland
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE)
• U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a thorough background investigation
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 30 pounds and performing CPR

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a detention or correctional healthcare setting
• Certified Correctional Health Professional (CCHP-RN) or Certified Corrections Nurse credential
• Proficiency in Spanish
