Registered Nurse, Home Infusion

Responsibilities

• Administer intravenous medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians in home and infusion suite settings
• Monitor patient responses to interventions and assess for anaphylaxis, intervening as necessary
• Instruct patients and families on home infusion therapy self-administration and troubleshoot infusion concerns
• Perform initial patient assessments, including physical assessments and medical histories, to determine home care needs
• Develop and implement comprehensive care plans that incorporate therapeutic, preventive, and psychosocial support
• Coordinate with pharmacy staff to establish patient care priorities and goals
• Complete all required patient care documentation, nursing plans of care, and reports

Requirements

• 1-2 years of acute care experience in an institutional setting
• Current Illinois nursing license
• Valid driver's license and dependable transportation for home visits
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy Class (Adult)
• Ability to obtain Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certificate within 12 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of home health care experience
• Oncology nursing experience
• Direct infusion experience
• Hematology Oncology Bridging Course; Fundamentals ONS
