Registered Nurse, Home Infusion

Responsibilities

• Administer intravenous medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians in home and infusion suite settings
• Monitor patient responses to interventions and assess for anaphylaxis, intervening as necessary
• Instruct patients and families on home infusion therapy self-administration and troubleshoot infusion concerns
• Perform initial patient assessments, including physical assessments and medical histories, to determine home care needs
• Develop and implement comprehensive care plans that incorporate therapeutic, preventive, and psychosocial support
• Coordinate with pharmacy staff to establish patient care priorities and goals
• Complete all required patient care documentation, nursing plans of care, and clinical reports

Requirements

• Current Illinois nursing license
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• One to two years of acute care experience in an institutional setting
• Valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle for home visits
• Ability to obtain Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification within 12 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of home health care experience
• Experience in oncology nursing
• Direct experience with infusion therapy
