Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments and develop person-centred care plans
• Deliver evidence-based nursing care, including chronic disease management
• Administer medications, immunisations, and perform clinical procedures such as wound care and blood collection
• Provide health education and health promotion initiatives to detainees
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including medical practitioners and allied health professionals
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with relevant legislation and clinical standards

Requirements

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration (Division 1)
• Minimum of 5 years post-registration clinical experience in an operational healthcare setting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant postgraduate qualification
• Experience working in complex care settings such as correctional, detention, drug and alcohol, or primary healthcare environments
• Understanding of contemporary drug and alcohol health issues and relevant legislation
