Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-informed quality nursing care to acute medical and surgical patients
• Assess patients, intervene appropriately, and evaluate clinical outcomes
• Manage IVs, medication administration, blood products, and TPN care
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care
• Interpret telemetry strips and laboratory values
• Prioritize and organize care delivery in a dynamic environment
• Act as charge nurse for break coverage and night shifts

Requirements

• Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Recent medical/surgical experience in an acute care setting
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
• Commitment to patient-centered and family-centered care

Preferred Qualifications

• Coronary Care I certification (required within 6 months of hire)
• Previous cardiac monitoring or telemetry experience
• Physical Assessment Course certification
