Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-informed quality nursing care to an acute medical and surgical patient population
• Assess patients, intervene appropriately, and evaluate outcomes within the full scope of CNO practice
• Manage diverse clinical needs including IV initiation, medication administration, blood products, TPN, and wound management
• Provide appropriate care to pre-operative and post-operative patients
• Interpret laboratory values and implement appropriate nursing interventions
• Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to provide patient-centered care

Requirements

• Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Recent medical/surgical experience in an acute care setting
• Telemetry experience
• Ability to work rotating 8 and 12 hour shifts (Monday to Sunday)
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role

Preferred Qualifications

• Coronary Care I certification (required within 6 months of hire)
• Critical care experience
• Physical Assessment Course
• Experience with Meditech and McKesson Visibility
