Registered Nurse EP-GI

Responsibilities

• Provide technically complex and high-risk nursing care, including sedation, intravenous infusions, and complex procedures.
• Perform specialized monitoring during the procedure and recovery phases.
• Administer minimal/moderate sedation analgesia under physician direction while maintaining adequate cardiorespiratory function.
• Utilize excellent airway management skills to prevent adverse outcomes during sedation.
• Conduct patient assessments to determine suitability for sedation and identify potential risk factors.
• Educate patients and families regarding pre-procedure preparation and post-procedure instructions.
• Accurately complete patient assessments, documentation, and interpretations for each encounter.
• Maintain nursing equipment, work areas, and emergency supplies in proper working condition.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current Illinois RN license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current PALS certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Experience working in a research environment.
• One additional certification in a specialty area.
