About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform duties within the scope of practice as a Registered Nurse under the direct supervision of a CRNA during the internship period
- Collaborate with CRNAs and Anesthesiologists to prepare preoperative assessments, including health histories and physical examinations
- Assist in developing Anesthesia Care Plans and contributing to perioperative anesthesia care
- Monitor and maintain appropriate patient records and quality assurance documentation
- Conduct postoperative evaluations in accordance with department policies
- Transition into a graduate CRNA role upon successful completion of certification, credentialing, and privileging
Requirements
- Expected graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program (Masters degree or DNP) within 6 months of interview
- Two years of pediatric ICU nursing experience
- Current ACLS or PALS certification
- Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) due to radiation exposure
- Ability to fulfill required weekday, weekend, and holiday obligations
Preferred Qualifications
- Five years of pediatric ICU nursing experience
- Completion of a pediatric nurse anesthesia fellowship
- Expected graduation with a Doctoral degree
