About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform duties under the direct supervision of a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) during the internship period
- Collaborate with CRNAs and Anesthesiologists to prepare preoperative assessments, including health histories and physical examinations
- Assist in developing Anesthesia Care Plans and contributing to perioperative anesthesia care
- Monitor and maintain appropriate patient records and quality assurance documentation
- Participate in postoperative evaluations and ongoing departmental projects
- Support perioperative providers and function in accordance with all institutional policies and guidelines
- Once credentialed, provide anesthesia-related care for diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical procedures under medical direction
Requirements
- Master's degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program (on or before 12/1/2027)
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan
- Current ACLS and BLS certification
- Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including lead vests, aprons, PAPR, and N-95 masks
- Ability to fulfill required weekday, weekend, and holiday obligations
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program within the next 12-18 months
- Five years of adult ICU nursing experience
- Scheduled date for the National Certification Exam (NCE) secured
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
