About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties under the direct supervision of a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) during the internship period
  • Collaborate with CRNAs and Anesthesiologists to prepare preoperative assessments, including health histories and physical examinations
  • Assist in developing Anesthesia Care Plans and contributing to perioperative anesthesia care
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate patient records and quality assurance documentation
  • Participate in postoperative evaluations and ongoing departmental projects
  • Support perioperative providers and function in accordance with all institutional policies and guidelines
  • Once credentialed, provide anesthesia-related care for diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical procedures under medical direction

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program (on or before 12/1/2027)
  • Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan
  • Current ACLS and BLS certification
  • Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including lead vests, aprons, PAPR, and N-95 masks
  • Ability to fulfill required weekday, weekend, and holiday obligations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program within the next 12-18 months
  • Five years of adult ICU nursing experience
  • Scheduled date for the National Certification Exam (NCE) secured
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
