Registered Nurse - CICU

Responsibilities

• Perform systematic patient assessments to determine diagnosis and monitor health status
• Develop and implement individualized care plans to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Provide safe and effective nursing interventions and clinical strategies
• Manage complex cardiac patients, including those requiring invasive arterial and hemodynamic monitoring, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and continuous veno-venous renal therapy dialysis
• Act as a patient advocate to protect and promote patient rights
• Document accurate patient records and provide educational guidance to patients and their families
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team within a patient-focused care model

Requirements

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
• Two years of recent cardiology experience
• Completion of a recognized Critical Care Course
• Previous experience in a CICU or ICU setting
• Ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks and maintain composure under high-pressure conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc.N.)
