Registered Nurse - Charge

Responsibilities

• Manage nursing staff on shift and ensure protocol adherence
• Oversee patient care and address clinical issues
• Account for staff and citizens in care during shifts
• Coordinate patient transfers when required
• Assess all citizens upon entry into the shelter
• Determine if patients require higher levels of care
• Provide medical care within professional scope
• Complete required organizational and regulatory compliance education

Requirements

• Current, full, and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Florida
• Graduate from an accredited associate's or baccalaureate nursing program
• Minimum one year of professional RN experience in hospital, medical office, or residential settings
• Basic Life Support certification
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to respond to disaster within 24 hours and remain onsite until conclusion
• Ability to work in austere environments and lift up to 30 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS certification
• PALS certification
• Experience with special needs populations
• Understanding of nursing operations in austere environments
