Registered Nurse Assistant Manager

Responsibilities

• Support the Nurse Manager in supervising nursing staff and overseeing daily clinical operations to ensure safe and compliant patient care.
• Coordinate staffing assignments, daily coverage, and nursing service schedules in line with operational needs.
• Oversee medical screenings, health assessments, and follow-up care for chronic medical, dental, and behavioral health conditions.
• Manage patient triage and documentation within the electronic health record system.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, dental staff, and behavioral health professionals.
• Support emergency response readiness, including stabilization, CPR, and medical transfer coordination.
• Participate in quality improvement, risk management, and staff training/orientation activities.
• Ensure the delivery of culturally competent and trauma-informed care to a diverse patient population.

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Maryland (or ability to obtain one).
• Baccalaureate or graduate degree from an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
• Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and obtain required security clearances.
• Ability to perform physical duties in a stressful environment, including lifting up to 30 pounds and performing CPR.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a detention or correctional healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in Spanish.
