Registered Nurse Assistant Manager

Responsibilities

• Support the Nurse Manager in supervising nursing staff and day-to-day nursing operations
• Coordinate staffing, daily assignments, and coverage planning
• Oversee initial medical screenings and ensure timely referrals to licensed practitioners
• Track full health assessments and follow-up care for chronic conditions
• Triage and document patient requests for healthcare services within the electronic health record
• Coordinate care with physicians, behavioral health, and dental staff
• Respond to medical emergencies, including CPR and stabilization
• Manage medical transfer information and continuity of care
• Participate in quality improvement, risk management, and staff training
• Maintain accurate, secure medical documentation in an ONC-certified EHR
• Perform direct Registered Nurse duties as required

Requirements

• Current, full, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Maryland (or ability to obtain one)
• Graduate from an accredited baccalaureate or graduate nursing program (ACEN or CCNE)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to work in a detention or correctional healthcare setting
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 30 pounds and performing CPR
• U.S. citizenship and five-year U.S. residency
• Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and medical examination

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a detention/correctional healthcare setting
• Proficiency in Spanish
