About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred, high-quality, and safe care to individuals in detention with alcohol and other drug-related needs
  • Conduct comprehensive AOD assessments and develop/implement individualized care plans
  • Deliver brief interventions and support withdrawal management
  • Monitor patient progress and provide psychoeducation
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver harm reduction, health promotion, and medication administration in a trauma-informed environment

Requirements

  • AHPRA-registered Nurse (General, unrestricted registration)
  • Minimum of 5 years of AOD experience (non-telehealth) plus a post-graduate qualification in mental health
  • OR a minimum of 7 years of AOD experience as a Registered Nurse without a post-graduate qualification
