Registered Nurse – AOD

Responsibilities

• Deliver holistic, person-centred, and high-quality care to individuals in detention with alcohol and other drug-related needs
• Conduct comprehensive AOD assessments and develop/implement individualized care plans
• Deliver brief interventions and support withdrawal management
• Monitor patient progress and provide psychoeducation
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to provide harm reduction, health promotion, and medication administration in a trauma-informed environment

Requirements

• AHPRA Registered Nurse (General unrestricted registration)
• Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience
• Direct patient care experience in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) (non-Telehealth)
• Ability to work in complex and dynamic environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in Alcohol and Other Drugs at AQF Level 8 or higher
• Significant demonstrated AOD nursing experience
