About the role
Responsibilities
- Deliver holistic, person-centred, and safe care to individuals in detention with alcohol and other drug-related needs
- Conduct comprehensive AOD assessments and develop/implement individualized care plans
- Deliver brief interventions and support withdrawal management
- Monitor patient progress and provide medication administration
- Provide harm reduction, health promotion, and psychoeducation within a trauma-informed environment
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Requirements
- AHPRA-registered Nurse (General, unrestricted registration)
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Registered Nurse in AOD (non-telehealth) plus a post-graduate qualification in mental health
- OR a minimum of seven (7) years of experience as an AOD Registered Nurse without a post-graduate qualification
