About the role
Responsibilities
- Attend births and provide care for infants directly after birth
- Evaluate and oversee the care of infants in the NICU
- Monitor the health of infants with medical issues such as prematurity or congenital defects
- Perform tests and evaluate results
- Provide treatment and administer medication as prescribed by the NICU physician
- Run and maintain NICU equipment
- Formulate nursing plans and evaluate treatment effectiveness
- Comfort sick newborns and anxious parents or family members
- Offer support and education to parents on at-home newborn care
Requirements
- Valid NMC registration
- At least 6 months recent UK NHS experience within the Neonatal Sector
- Ability to provide a clinical reference and cover last three years of employment
- Ability to provide an enhanced DBS or documents to apply for one
- Right to work within the UK
