About the role

Responsibilities

  • Attend births and provide care for infants directly after birth
  • Evaluate and oversee the care of infants in the NICU
  • Monitor the health of infants with medical issues such as prematurity or congenital defects
  • Perform tests and evaluate results
  • Provide treatment and administer medication as prescribed by the NICU physician
  • Run and maintain NICU equipment
  • Formulate nursing plans and evaluate treatment effectiveness
  • Comfort sick newborns and anxious parents or family members
  • Offer support and education to parents on at-home newborn care

Requirements

  • Valid NMC registration
  • At least 6 months recent UK NHS experience within the Neonatal Sector
  • Ability to provide a clinical reference and cover last three years of employment
  • Ability to provide an enhanced DBS or documents to apply for one
  • Right to work within the UK
