About the role

Responsibilities

  • Direct the day-to-day operations of the agency ensuring alignment with Fostering Services Regulations 2011 and National Minimum Standards
  • Act as the designated Safeguarding Lead and primary point of contact for external agencies and the LADO
  • Supervise, mentor, and inspire a team of Social Workers
  • Oversee the recruitment, assessment (Form F), and retention of foster carers
  • Maintain high standards in preparation for Ofsted inspections including Regulation 35 reports and monthly auditing
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with Local Authority commissioners

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Social Work
  • Current registration with Social Work England
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership or Registered Manager capacity within a fostering setting
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management or willingness to work towards it
  • Thorough understanding of the Children Act 1989 and current Fostering Regulations
  • Valid UK driving licence
  • Ability to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota
