Registered Dietitian

Responsibilities

• Provide nutritional consultation and independently screen patients for nutritional intervention
• Collect and interpret patient health data for in-depth assessment and ongoing monitoring
• Establish priorities, strategies, and interventions to contribute to individualized treatment programs
• Foster a culture of safety by minimizing patient harm and communicating safety concerns
• Collaborate with patients, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to achieve optimal outcomes
• Perform additional duties such as mentoring dietetic students, implementing medical directives, and conducting practice-based research

Requirements

• Masters degree in Nutrition or a Bachelors degree with a post-graduate dietetic internship
• Successful completion of an accredited practical dietetic training program
• Registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and medical software
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to function in an independent, self-directed manner
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) designation
• Experience with Diabetes Education, insulin adjustment, and insulin pumps
• Experience with Type 1 diabetes
• Experience supervising dietetic students or interns
• Membership with Dietitians of Canada
