Registered Dietitian

Responsibilities

• Provide nutritional consultation and screening for patients within the Endocrinology clinic
• Collect and interpret patient health data to perform in-depth nutritional assessments
• Establish individualized treatment strategies and interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Perform ongoing monitoring and reassessment in collaboration with patients, caregivers, and the healthcare team
• Foster a culture of safety by minimizing patient harm and communicating safety concerns
• Support departmental excellence through mentoring dietetic students and conducting practice-based research

Requirements

• Masters or Bachelors degree in Nutrition (with post-graduate dietetic internship if Bachelors)
• Successful completion of an accredited practical dietetic training program
• Registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
• Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) designation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and medical software
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work in an independent, self-directed manner

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Diabetes Education and Type 1 diabetes
• Experience in out-patient clinical settings
• Experience with insulin adjustment, insulin pump education, and management
• Experience supervising dietetic students or interns
• Membership with Dietitians of Canada
