About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide nutritional consultation and screening for patients within the Endocrinology clinic
  • Collect and interpret patient health data to perform in-depth nutritional assessments
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress in collaboration with caregivers and healthcare teams
  • Establish clinical priorities and interventions to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Foster a culture of safety by minimizing patient harm and communicating safety concerns
  • Perform additional duties such as mentoring dietetic students, conducting practice-based research, and managing administrative tasks

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nutrition or equivalent (or Bachelor's with a post-graduate dietetic internship)
  • Successful completion of an accredited practical dietetic training program
  • Current registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
  • Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) designation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and medical software
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to work in an independent, self-directed manner

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in diabetes education, specifically with Type 1 diabetes
  • Experience with insulin adjustment, insulin pumps, and outpatient clinical settings
  • Experience supervising dietetic students or interns
  • Membership with Dietitians of Canada
  • Experience conducting practice-based research
