About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide nutritional consultation and screening for patients within the Endocrinology clinic
- Collect and interpret patient health data to perform in-depth nutritional assessments
- Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress in collaboration with caregivers and healthcare teams
- Establish clinical priorities and interventions to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Foster a culture of safety by minimizing patient harm and communicating safety concerns
- Perform additional duties such as mentoring dietetic students, conducting practice-based research, and managing administrative tasks
Requirements
- Master's degree in Nutrition or equivalent (or Bachelor's with a post-graduate dietetic internship)
- Successful completion of an accredited practical dietetic training program
- Current registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
- Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) designation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and medical software
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work in an independent, self-directed manner
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in diabetes education, specifically with Type 1 diabetes
- Experience with insulin adjustment, insulin pumps, and outpatient clinical settings
- Experience supervising dietetic students or interns
- Membership with Dietitians of Canada
- Experience conducting practice-based research
