About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide consultation and independently screen patients for nutritional intervention
- Collect and interpret patient health data for in-depth assessment
- Complete ongoing monitoring and reassessment in collaboration with patients, caregivers, and the healthcare team
- Establish priorities, strategies, and interventions for individualized treatment programs
- Foster a culture of safety by minimizing patient harm and communicating safety concerns
- Mentor dietetic students and implement medical directives
- Conduct practice-based research and perform administrative responsibilities
Requirements
- Masters degree in an integrated practicum program in Nutrition (or Bachelors with post-graduate internship)
- 1 year of practical and related experience
- Completion of an accredited practical dietetic training program (PEDRA)
- Registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and medical software
- Ability to perform advanced nutrition assessments (SGA, BIA, skinfold, indirect calorimetry)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in outpatient or oncology settings
- Experience with nutrition counseling and virtual nutrition care
- Experience providing enteral nutrition support
- Experience conducting practice-based research
- Experience supervising dietetic students or interns
- Membership with Dietitians of Canada
