Registered Dietitian

Responsibilities

• Provide nutritional services for in-center and home dialysis patients under the direct supervision of a qualified renal dietitian
• Calculate diet prescriptions according to standards of practice and evaluate patient knowledge of diet and kidney disease
• Complete nutrition history forms to assist CMS-qualified dietitians with patient assessments
• Provide patient-specific education regarding nutritional status, fluid status, and nutrition-related lab parameters
• Monitor and review nutrition-related lab results, communicating findings to the interdisciplinary team and physicians
• Identify malnourished patients and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to implement appropriate interventions
• Assist with fluid and sodium education and volume management for patients
• Participate in Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) and Plan of Care meetings

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or a directly related field (Master’s degree preferred)
• Registered Dietitian (RD) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration
• Current State licensure (if applicable)
• Less than 1 year of clinical experience
