Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Responsibilities

• Implement behavior intervention for patients on the Specialized Needs Unit (SNU)
• Monitor patient progress and communicate behavioral information to the treatment team
• Assist in family and caregiver training
• Assess and report on behavior program needs regarding materials and curriculum
• Participate in treatment planning and discharge planning
• Assist Mental Health Technicians in implementing treatment plans using behavior skills training
• Encourage and facilitate patient participation in therapeutic activities
• Supervise patients to ensure safety and treatment involvement
• Assist patients with activities of daily living based on treatment plans
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment
• Maintain patient, program, and department documentation

Requirements

• RBT certification from the BACB (Behavior Analyst Certification Board)
• Minimum one year experience working with persons with developmental or intellectual disabilities
