About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and manage regional sales activities to achieve established goals and objectives.
- Train and develop the regional team to identify sales opportunities and effectively represent Abbott products.
- Manage the performance of Account Managers, including performance appraisals and career counseling.
- Identify and recruit direct sales professionals to support regional growth.
- Direct the field implementation of company sales, marketing, and national account programs.
- Manage the performance of the distributor sales force and act as the primary contact for their management teams.
- Assist in the formulation of strategic sales plans, forecasting, and annual budget management.
- Monitor market, customer, and competitor trends to advise management on improving competitiveness.
- Maintain high-level business relationships with national, regional, and key accounts.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree, preferably in sales, marketing, business management, or a related field.
- Additional training in product sales and the diagnostics industry.
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in sales with 3 to 6 years of experience managing field staff.
- Strong knowledge of complex sales methods and techniques within the diagnostic market.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and working knowledge of Salesforce.com or equivalent CRM solutions.
