About the role
Responsibilities
- Screen patients at medical facilities for eligibility for State, County, and Federal assistance programs
- Initiate the application process bedside whenever possible to assist patients with their needs
- Provide regular progress reports and information to client contacts
- Travel within an assigned region to provide coverage for onsite representatives
- Document screening results in hospital computer systems and internal reporting tools
- Maintain professional relationships with hospital staff across all departments
- Conduct outside field work, including patient home visits, as required
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Reliable transportation for travel to multiple local facilities and home visits
- Basic personal computer skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a busy medical environment
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in medical billing or medical coding
- Experience with government or hospital eligibility programs
- Previous experience in a clinical or medical setting
