Regional Controller East

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff across project accounting, payroll, and bookkeeping
• Design and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to mitigate financial risk
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, including reconciliations and reporting
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, construction accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
• Review and approve project budgets, forecasts, and financial models, monitoring budget-to-actual performance
• Oversee project profitability, cost performance, revenue recognition, WIP, and backlog forecasting
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and provide financial analysis to senior leadership
• Oversee payroll processing, tax filings, and 401(k) administration
• Coordinate with external tax advisors and manage insurance policies, bonding, and licensing

Requirements

• 5–7 years of accounting experience, specifically within the construction or project-based industry
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proficiency in construction accounting software such as Sage, Procore, or Timberline
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and subcontractor compliance
