About the role

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the North America Category Procurement Strategy for animal and pet nutrition, including vitamins, proteins, and grains.
  • Manage a combined annual spend exceeding $300 million, driving cost savings and working capital improvements.
  • Lead strategic supplier relationship management programs to enhance performance, innovation, and long-term value.
  • Conduct complex negotiations and manage contracts for high-value, strategic categories.
  • Utilize market intelligence and spend analytics to anticipate risks and capitalize on commodity trends.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and present category strategies and financial impacts to senior leadership.
  • Establish and track category KPIs to ensure supply continuity and alignment with global objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Agricultural Economics, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of procurement or category management experience.
  • Proven experience in the animal/pet nutrition, agriculture, or food industries.
  • Experience managing high-spend commodity-based portfolios.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, including cost modeling and market analysis.
  • Proficiency with ERP and procurement systems such as SAP, Coupa, Ariba, or JDE.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and people leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with e-sourcing tools.
  • Multilingual capabilities.
