About the role
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the North America Category Procurement Strategy for animal and pet nutrition, including vitamins, proteins, and grains.
- Manage a combined annual spend exceeding $300 million, driving cost savings and working capital improvements.
- Lead strategic supplier relationship management programs to enhance performance, innovation, and long-term value.
- Conduct complex negotiations and manage contracts for high-value, strategic categories.
- Utilize market intelligence and spend analytics to anticipate risks and capitalize on commodity trends.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and present category strategies and financial impacts to senior leadership.
- Establish and track category KPIs to ensure supply continuity and alignment with global objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Agricultural Economics, or a related field.
- 7+ years of procurement or category management experience.
- Proven experience in the animal/pet nutrition, agriculture, or food industries.
- Experience managing high-spend commodity-based portfolios.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen, including cost modeling and market analysis.
- Proficiency with ERP and procurement systems such as SAP, Coupa, Ariba, or JDE.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and people leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with e-sourcing tools.
- Multilingual capabilities.
