About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the principal academic officer for the Spokane regional campus, ensuring educational quality and accreditation compliance.
- Facilitate community and connection among students through didactic and clinical experiences, including Longitudinal Integrated Clerkships.
- Lead clinical preceptor recruitment and onboarding, focusing on underserved and rural regional areas.
- Manage regional partnerships with medical providers and oversee affiliation agreements.
- Oversee regional campus administrative staff and support the student and faculty experience.
- Collaborate with College of Medicine leadership to align regional activities with the institutional mission.
- Partner with community and K-12 systems to provide mentorship and service, specifically focusing on indigenous populations.
Requirements
- Board-certified or eligible physician (MD, DO, MBBS or equivalent).
- Current or previous appointment at the Associate rank or equivalent at a post-secondary institution.
- Proven record of accomplishments in teaching, research, clinical work, or service commensurate with academic rank.
- Ability to be present on the Spokane regional campus for in-person engagement and teaching.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering academic access and opportunity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Clinical experience in family medicine, internal medicine, or emergency medicine.
- At least 5 years of precepting experience.
- At least 3 years of medical education administration experience.
- Experience with LCME accreditation and participation in survey visits.
