About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop long-term relationships with physicians, extended prescribers, and other healthcare providers in the Detroit South territory.
- Represent Alexion's neurology portfolio and provide disease and product education to external customers.
- Achieve or exceed territory goals through ethical, patient-focused engagement.
- Develop strategic account plans based on market insights and brand strategy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Market Access, Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs), and Institutional Account Managers.
- Educate providers on disease awareness, diagnostic pathways, and treatment options.
- Navigate complex hospital systems and community practices to reach key partners.
- Track and report sales activities accurately and on time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (required).
- 5 years of pharmaceutical sales or equivalent experience (e.g., Biotech, Medical Device).
- Proven track record of delivering consistent sales results.
- Experience building relationships with physicians treating neuromuscular disorders.
- Experience working with healthcare professionals in settings that administer infused therapies and/or apheresis.
- Ability to build lasting relationships in physician practices and hospitals with challenging access.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the territory, including overnight and weekend travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Life Sciences or an MBA.
- Biopharma experience, specifically in Neurology and/or Ophthalmology.
- Ability to navigate and work in large hospital systems, IDNs, and academic teaching hospitals.
