Refrigeration Technician

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate industrial refrigeration systems including large rack systems, split systems, blast chillers, and cooling towers
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on refrigeration and HVAC systems
• Troubleshoot out of service equipment and act as an escalation point for lower-level technicians
• Document all work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
• Mentor maintenance personnel in refrigeration processes, tools, and techniques
• Lead root cause analysis of major downtime events
• Repair and perform maintenance on CO2 and Freon systems including compressors, pumps, and heat exchangers
• Audit vendor work and maintenance personnel performance

Requirements

• 4-6 years of industrial refrigeration repair and maintenance experience
• Advanced understanding of rack system refrigeration
• Experience with glycol systems, heat exchangers, HVAC, and water chillers
• Proficiency with electrical systems including single and three phase motors and low voltage controls
• Current EPA Section 608 certification
• Necessary regulatory licenses required by local municipalities
• Ability to read and understand drawings, schematics, and diagrams
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
