Refrigeration Technician

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the ammonia refrigeration system, including spiral freezers, air units, boilers, compressors, and CO2 systems.
• Troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery and supporting equipment to detect root causes through sensory inspection.
• Dismantle inoperable machinery, install new or repaired parts, and reassemble equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance by cleaning and lubricating shafts, bearings, gears, and other components.
• Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
• Monitor facility temperatures and make necessary adjustments to maintain plant standards.
• Complete OSHA checks of internal boilers and other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Experience with ammonia refrigeration system maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Ability to attain and maintain required certification for the HAZMAT entry team.
• Ability to attain and maintain a boiler license.
• Proficiency in preventative maintenance and machinery repair.
• Ability to work the 3rd shift (8:00 PM – 5:00 AM).
• Capability to work in a safety-sensitive position.
