Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician

Responsibilities

• Lay out, construct, install, maintain, and repair HVAC-R equipment and associated controls
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various types of refrigeration and air conditioning systems
• Conduct routine maintenance according to preventative maintenance schedules
• Work from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to complete assigned tasks
• Utilize testing equipment to read and adjust controls for optimal system performance
• Install and adjust valve controls, perform electrical wiring, and set up electronic controls
• Monitor system operations using the Energy Management Control System (EMCS)
• Diagnose malfunctions in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or electronic systems
• Maintain and program moisture control, airflow, and thermal balance to ensure indoor air quality
• Perform precision alignment of equipment using tools such as lasers and dial indicators

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in commercial or industrial HVAC field performing troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Technician Certification
• Ability to physically lift 35 or more pounds during a shift
• Ability to complete Fall Protection Training
• Must be a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with basic freezer operations systems
• Familiarity with the operation of chilled water and/or glycol chiller systems
