About the role
Responsibilities
- Support individuals returning to the community by providing employment services, career planning, and vocational assessments
- Conduct resident readiness orientations to identify vocational aptitudes and develop individualized career plans
- Facilitate classroom curriculum focused on self-awareness, job readiness, and career progression
- Assist clients with long-term employment goals, including recording work history and managing justice-involved factors
- Facilitate regular groups on financial education and budgeting practices
- Develop and maintain a "Second Chance" employer database and monitor local employment trends
- Maintain up-to-date resident employment tracking databases and complete employer notifications and check-ins
- Participate in community outreach and hiring events to strengthen program visibility
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience in case management, corrections, behavioral health, or related human services fields
- Ability to pass and maintain security clearances as required by the Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP)
- Proficiency in documentation, data entry, and maintaining case files
- Ability to work effectively with adults impacted by incarceration, mental health conditions, and/or substance use
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Human Services, Education, Criminal Justice, or a related field
- Two years of experience working with formerly incarcerated populations or individuals receiving mental health/substance abuse treatment
- Knowledge of job analysis, local job markets, assessment tools, and social service organizations
