Reentry Career Specialist

Responsibilities

• Support individuals returning to the community by providing employment services, career planning, and vocational assessments
• Conduct resident readiness orientations to identify vocational aptitudes and develop individualized career plans
• Facilitate classroom curriculum focused on self-awareness, job readiness, and career progression
• Assist clients with long-term employment goals, including recording work history and managing justice-involved factors
• Facilitate regular groups on financial education and budgeting practices
• Develop and maintain a "Second Chance" employer database and monitor local employment trends
• Maintain up-to-date resident employment tracking databases and complete employer notifications and check-ins
• Participate in community outreach and hiring events to strengthen program visibility

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience in case management, corrections, behavioral health, or related human services fields
• Ability to pass and maintain security clearances as required by the Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP)
• Proficiency in documentation, data entry, and maintaining case files
• Ability to work effectively with adults impacted by incarceration, mental health conditions, and/or substance use

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Human Services, Education, Criminal Justice, or a related field
• Two years of experience working with formerly incarcerated populations or individuals receiving mental health/substance abuse treatment
• Knowledge of job analysis, local job markets, assessment tools, and social service organizations
