Recycling Technician

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect extruded product for appearance and size defects
• Conduct recurrent tests and inspections of product functional features
• Notify appropriate personnel of product defects
• Ensure proper packing patterns, product counts, and package enclosures
• Discard unacceptable product in Scrap Rack
• Identify production line jams and assist as necessary
• Perform line shut down tasks and assist with product changes
• Communicate product quality and status with previous and following shifts
• Perform housekeeping duties including cleaning saws and packaging equipment
• Complete all line paperwork accurately and legibly
• Maintain supplies at workstation
• Assist with training of temporary and new hires

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math
• Proficiency reading tape measure, micrometer, and dial caliper
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds continually above shoulder height and below waist
• Excellent manual dexterity and ability to concentrate for sustained periods
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Commitment to safety and use of personal protective equipment
