About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee all camp-related programming, including sports, general recreation, and arts-based activities for the Northridge Community Church Day Camp.
- Supervise and mentor camp staff and volunteers to ensure a safe, caring, and positive environment.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement daily camp schedules and educational programming.
- Manage the timely purchase and distribution of equipment and materials required for camp operations.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including incident reports, health and safety compliance records, and program reports.
- Build and strengthen community partnerships and attend community events to promote the organization.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and all organizational policies.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a summer camp leadership role.
- Proven experience supervising staff and volunteers.
- Current valid Standard First Aid + CPR & AED (Intermediate First Aid) certification, or willingness to obtain it.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including video editing.
- Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 29 lbs.
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods and handle an indoor/outdoor camp environment.
- Must meet Canada Summer Jobs Program eligibility (typically aged 19-30, Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person).
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant post-secondary coursework or education.
