About the role

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all camp-related programming, including sports, general recreation, and arts-based activities for the Northridge Community Church Day Camp.
  • Supervise and mentor camp staff and volunteers to ensure a safe, caring, and positive environment.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement daily camp schedules and educational programming.
  • Manage the timely purchase and distribution of equipment and materials required for camp operations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including incident reports, health and safety compliance records, and program reports.
  • Build and strengthen community partnerships and attend community events to promote the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and all organizational policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a summer camp leadership role.
  • Proven experience supervising staff and volunteers.
  • Current valid Standard First Aid + CPR & AED (Intermediate First Aid) certification, or willingness to obtain it.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including video editing.
  • Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 29 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods and handle an indoor/outdoor camp environment.
  • Must meet Canada Summer Jobs Program eligibility (typically aged 19-30, Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant post-secondary coursework or education.
