About the role
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Recreation Therapists to design and implement therapeutic recreation programs
- Execute recreation participation programs tailored to patient interests and needs
- Contribute to intervention plans and report significant patient changes to the therapy team
- Provide supervision to volunteers, high school co-op students, and college placement students
- Maintain accurate recreation therapy records, including statistics, program descriptions, and evaluations
- Manage program requirements such as facilities, budgets, equipment, and supplies
- Prepare administrative materials including posters, expense forms, and activity calendars
- Participate in interprofessional team meetings and contribute to person-centered practices
Requirements
- College diploma in Recreation Leadership, Recreation Therapy, or a related discipline
- 1–2 years of experience in recreation or activation specifically with adult populations
- Proven experience in the delivery of recreation programs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Ability to work effectively within an interprofessional team environment
