About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments of patients and plan individual and group interventions
- Collaborate in an inter-professional environment to provide patient-focused care
- Contribute to the conceptualization, planning, and development of recreation programs
- Plan, implement, and evaluate Therapeutic Recreation interventions
- Comply with patient safety responsibilities and hospital policies to ensure a safe environment
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation and Leisure studies (with emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation) or a related field such as Kinesiology, Psychology, or Health Studies
- Post-diploma in Therapeutic Recreation
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the practice of Therapeutic Recreation
- Membership in a professional Therapeutic Recreation association (Provincial, National, State, or International)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support – Level C, Healthcare Provider certification
- Strong organizational, communication, and independent working skills
- Ability to perform the physical demands of the job
