About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and supervise specialized recreational activities and programs at various community centers.
- Lead programs and instruct participants on facility rules and safety protocols.
- Organize diverse activities including aquatics, day camps, arts and culture, sports, and special events.
- Recruit and train volunteers to assist with program implementation.
- Maintain discipline and observe necessary precautions to ensure the safety of all participants.
- Manage recreation supplies and equipment, including researching and ordering new items.
- Collect registration fees and maintain attendance and activity statistics for reporting.
- Perform minor custodial functions to maintain clean and safe activity spaces.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of experience facilitating recreational or group activities (e.g., athletics, music, arts, childcare, or education).
- Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
- Valid driver's license (required when work assignment involves driving a vehicle).
- Ability to pass a post-employment physical examination, drug screen, and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-high school education in recreation, leisure services, education, or a related field.
