About the role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a front-line representative for the Department of Recreation in indoor and outdoor settings
  • Register patrons for various programs and promote community events
  • Lead or monitor activities including arts and crafts, fitness, sports, and camps
  • Manage recreational equipment and maintain light facility cleanliness
  • Support program delivery through supervision, scorekeeping, and officiating games
  • Enforce center policies and adhere to all safety protocols
  • Maintain accurate records and apply emergency skills as needed

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to obtain First Aid and Adult/Child CPR with AED certification within 150 days of appointment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Sociology, Psychology, Communication, or Education
  • At least 500 hours of experience in recreational programming within public or private agencies
