About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop recreation plans and implement programs
- Facilitate celebration events and socials
- Provide coverage for vacation and sick time on an as-needed basis
- Plan, schedule, and direct leisure activities
- Perform recreation department duties to support residents
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Recreation and Leisure Studies or equivalent
- Experience working with seniors and residents with dementia
- Experience with MDS/RAI charting and Point Click Care assessments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
- Knowledge of Fixing Long Term Care Act/Regulation and RHRA compliance
- Ability to complete a vulnerable sector check and TB test
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in programming and evaluating recreation programs
- Strong management and supervisory skills
