Recovery Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve recovery Concept of Operations (CONOPS) from landing through return-to-flight
• Evaluate launch sites, landing zones, and ranges for recovery feasibility and safety
• Specify and assess recovery ground support equipment (GSE) including cranes, transport frames, and barges
• Define refurbishment and recycle processes, including inspection flows and repair scope
• Drive maintainability and operability requirements into vehicle and system design
• Develop and maintain operational cost models for recovery and refurbishment
• Support integration and payload processing concepts

Requirements

• Engineering degree in aerospace, mechanical, civil, naval, or industrial engineering
• 5–10+ years in launch vehicle programs or large-scale aerospace hardware projects
• Technical background in launcher ground operations and recovery/refurbishment concepts
• Knowledge of transport, handling, lifting, and storage of large aerospace hardware
• Experience with ground support equipment and launch-site or port environments
• Ability to conduct operational trade studies regarding feasibility and cost
• Fluent in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in German
• Hands-on exposure to aircraft or launch vehicle refurbishment
